Operation Santa’s Child is a grassroots community event that started in 1993 by a small group of teachers, students, and friends on a mission to bring the magic of Christmas to Albuquerque families experiencing hardship.
More than 30 years later, our mission to give the gift of holiday cheer to a handful of children has scaled into an all-hands-on-deck community effort that delivers a warm and cheerful Christmas to dozens of Albuquerque children and their families each year. With the help of a dedicated group of volunteers, donors, and sponsors, we provide coats, clothing, toys, school supplies, and holiday meals to make sure no child misses out on the magic of Christmas. Since the very first Operation Santa’s Child in 1993, hundreds of community donors and volunteers have come together to help make each child’s Christmas wish come true. And we’re just getting started. Volunteers support with shopping, wrapping gifts, fundraising, mobilizing community support, and much more!
How You Can Help
FUND A WISH LIST
Our "wish list" helpers receive a child profile with details of a child's wants and needs. Then they generously look after providing everything on the child's list – from clothing and educational materials to toys from their wish list for Santa! If they are unable to do the shopping, we have helpers to support and together we deliver joy!

Through the support of our community donations and corporate sponsors, Operation Santa’s Child funds not only provide clothing, educational materials, and toys for the children – we also provide groceries for a holiday meal that the entire family can enjoy. There is no minimum ask of our donors, as every bit helps greatly!

Join the Operation!
Participating in Operation Santa’s Child provides an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of kindness and compassion. On the evening of our event, we gather, load up our packages of toys, clothes, food, and of course the man of the hour, Santa. Then we deliver the gifts to each family, singing Christmas carols and sending our Christmas blessings!
